No, not that drink. I'm talking about caffeine. I don't know about you, but I have an uneasy relationship with tea – by which I mean the black tea we Brits generally drink. I came down with some kind of virus a week ago which made my mind foggy, but even though I got better pretty quickly, I found myself exhausted all the time.
I managed to keep up with my daily words, but only just and had no time for anything else. I even had a 2pm nap yesterday – unheard of!
And then I remembered  – caffeine helps me up to a point, and then it becomes my enemy. If I have too many cuppas, then I inevitably hit a wall mid afternoon where my brain just begs me to have mercy.

So, today I went caffeine free, and guess what? No nap needed.

Which goes to show that sometimes a change is, indeed, as good as a rest. I managed to come up with an excellent end point for one of the threads in my latest post apoc novel and am within spitting distance of finishing. A good way to end the week.
